Cardboard Challenge

I am happy to announce that we are teaming up with CAMA (Colorado Advanced Manufacturing Alliance) to bring the Cardboard Challenge to Colorado Springs! The Cardboard Challenge is a worldwide celebration of child creativity which fosters hands on learning. Inspired by the short film, Caine's Arcade, children are challenged to create and build using cardboard, recycled materials, and their imagination.

Why do a Cardboard Challenge?

* It fosters creativity, inguenuity, resourcefulness, and perseverance

* Gives students an opportunity to use their hands to make something

* Provides a platform for students to actively foster and celebrate child creativity

* It is fun!

FACTS:

* According to the Department of Labor, the median age of the manufacturing workforce rose from 40.5 years to 44.1 years in 2011, demonstrating that we are not adding new young workers to the workforce.

* Imagine graduating from high school with a job paying $31,000-45,000 or more per year without student loans. It's possible! A trained machinist can ear between $15-30 per hour. In contrast, the average starting salary for a college graduate is $45,327.

Colorado Cardboard Solutions is proud to be a CAMA member and we want to make manufacturing a career of choice. In order to do this, we understand there must be an unbroken continuum of school programs to engage, inspire, and motivate students.
